Northern Vietnam Tour

It is an ancient Hindu archeological site that features stone sculptures of Hindu deities, towers, and other artifacts. There were originally over 70 temples; unfortunately, most of them were destroyed during the Vietnam War. But still, the remains evoke the civilization they represent. About an hour from Hoi An is the 1,300-year-old ruin that lies in the jungle. Where you start depends on your personal preference and where you are coming from. During my trip to Central Vietnam, I arrived via Da Nang International Airport and first traveled to Hoi An and spend three days there.

Even though we were used to the chaos caused by seven million motorbikes in Ho Chi Minh City, we got used to it. We had booked ahead to arrange transport to and from Halong Bay, and otherwise flew with HCMC, Nha Trang and Da Nang. [My original plan was for each of them to be connected by an overnight train. The disadvantages of a late-night boarding time and pre-dawn departure made it less appealing for children and more cost-effective to book cheap flights. Take a bus from Hanoi to Ninh Binh in the morning and check into your hotel. Spend the rest of the day cruising around Tam Coc by boat and visiting Tam Coc Pagoda.

On the third day, you can travel to the Mekong Delta to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere on the boat trip along the river and have local interaction with friendly people living here. You will then continue your journey to Can Tho for an overnight stop. After a night in Ho Chi Minh City, you will return to Hanoi for your flight home. For the next 2 days, it would be great to stay on an overnight cruise with some active outdoor activities to explore the world-famous Halong Bay.
